Returning to Force Recordings with her first 4 song EP ever, SenseNet built upon personal struggle and a desire to make sense of that turmoil over the course of FOUR YEARS to craft the music presented in her return to Jungle/DnB/Ambient. Using a parable as the basis of understanding and growth, SenseNet recounts to us:
“The Well, draws from the parable of a horse trapped in a well, climbing to freedom by stepping up on each shovelful of dirt thrown down upon it in an attempt to bury the struggling soul. This story of resilience unfolds across four tracks, blending ambient, jungle and DnB influences into a rich, emotional soundscape.
The EP opens with the DnB version of “The Well,” where fast breakbeats and deep synth washes capture the tension of overcoming obstacles. The second track, “Traveling Without Moving” follows as a departure, thematically separate from the rest of the EP. Here, SenseNet explores the theme of finding connections across space and time, evoking the constancy of love that remains despite physical separation. This track’s lush textures and expansive soundscapes provide a more uplifting perspective, inviting listeners to journey inward and explore timeless bonds. “Caverns (Fly Me Away),” brings an airy, atmospheric quality to the throwback drum work of the earlier years of Jungle, channeling moments of hope between the angular shadows.
The EP closes with the ambient original version of “The Well,” an expansive, meditative piece that delves back into the parable’s depths, reflecting isolation and the quiet determination that leads to transformation.”
The Well is a journey through struggle, hope, and human connection. SenseNet weaves jungle drum and bass’s driving urgency with ambient’s introspection, creating a resonant soundscape that celebrates resilience of the spirit and the love that comes from unity.
