As a label owner, I spend a great deal of time diving into what makes each of the artists and producers that I choose to work with tick. Asking Magnafide directly about what is now his sophomore release with our camp (the original having been with collab partner ‘Dubsky’ back in 2013 on our sister imprint Stepping Forward Records) he had this to say:

“I hadn’t listened to Dieselboy’s “97 Octane” mixtape in years, maybe over a decade. “Let’s See” came from being directly inspired by that DJ set.” And that makes sense when you compare the stomping concrete shoes sound of the time. Let’s See really gets chunky and it’s been in plate in our Live Stream shows for over a year without ever loosing it’s excitement in the mix!

Moving on to the second song: “After grabbing some rave synth patches I came up with chords for “Getting Deep”, and the rest flowed in about 3 sessions. It’s my ode to jungle and a nod to breakbeat hardcore (during the second breakdown).” And for me it was the mixture of old and new styles so seamlessly that made this a perfect fit for the flip on this, our 117th Force Recordings release from the man MAGNAFIDE!
