TUFF039 was originally released as 10″ Dubplate #5 of 10 in our limited edition vinyl dubplate series and only 14 were ever cut. This project was concepted in 2018 and set speed in 2020. If you didn’t get one of those dubs when they were cut, that was that.. Tuff Love! But now, years later the TUFF LOVE DUBS Dubplate series begins a new stage: and “Somewhere Else / Wake Up” continue paving the way for the world at large to get up on these previously exclusive cuts!

Dubplate #5 combined two crowd favorites from the past year’s shows from our forthcoming Dubplate archive into a single release. Generally speaking we tend to put an Amen cut b2b with a rolling number - but time around we went full on breaks with two top tier Amen cuts on one plate!

At long last after 2 years of planning from 2018 until now; TUFF LOVE DUBS is reborn in 2020 as a contemporary Jungle Label!

ALL releases on this newly minted imprint will ONLY be available on 10″ Vinyl Dubplate in quantities of 10-12 plates per release in most cases. If you don’t get the Dub, that’s that.. Tuff Love.

Keeping with the trend set by the imprint’s original mission; there are NO ARTIST NAMES on these releases. Tuff Love Dubs is doing its part to bring back some of the mystery of dubplate culture. If you want to know who made a tune - start asking around! Hunt for clues in blogs, discord, or maybe on a sticker somewhere… in the end all will be known! And while you hunt, the beats in these songs will keep you moving. We’ve taken things back to the roots with a pure nod to the golden era - roll it crew!

Every song released on TUFF LOVE DUBS from here on out is a Jungle monster made to rock the dance-floor AND bring the defining sounds of Jungle DnB to your soul. This is going back to the roots with a genuine nod to the golden era. We look forward to letting the music and the format it’s on bring you the joy its meant to <3

A quick shout to the final ‘vinyl’ format of the Dub’s we’ve chosen to bring to you. We’ve decided on the more robust and long lasting ‘vinyl dubplate’ instead of the traditional lacquer dubplate partly as a result of the devastating loss of Apollo / Transco in March (the only actual ‘acetate’ manufacturer in the world with real capacity is now gone: https://www.residentadvisor.net/news/71906 ) that’s created a global shortage of lacquer blanks - and - from a strong chorus of fans and music lovers who’ve made it clear to us they would prefer a plate they can play hundreds (if not thousands) of times instead of 20 or 30 times at best.
